Rocking Revlon Strawberry Suede for the Royal Wedding!

Hey loves!

I thought I'd give the ubiquitous Royal Wedding blog post a bit of a spin and show you what I wore on the big day, showing off my new Revlon Matte lipstick in Strawberry Suede :)

Firstly can I just say that I had the BEST day yesterday! I thought Kate looked STUNNING and I loved her dress, ESPECIALLY the lace! If you follow me on Twitter you'll know I thought her dress was perfect for a future Queen of England! I spent the day watching the whole ceremony with my family before heading over to a local park for a party :) It was Pimms o clock for me!

Make-up:

FACE
No7 Colour Calming Primer
Maybelline Pure Cover Mineral Concealer (Natural)
Benefit Hoola

EYES
Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eye Liner (Brown) - top lid
Avon Color Trend Double Ended Kajal Stick (Brown) - lower waterline

LIPS
Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Liner in 021 Red Dynamite (smudged in with The Body Shop's lip brush)
Revlon Matte Lipstick in Strawberry Suede

Strawberry Suede:

I bought this on eBay as it's been discontinued by Revlon! Typical! I've seen it on a couple of blogs and knew I had to have it :)

Here's my lips before...
and after...
I am seriously in love with this lipstick! I knew I had to wear it on the Royal Wedding day as it's a lovely pillar box red! It's SO pigmented and lasted like 6 hours, until I had a Pimms and it rubbed off! Don't be put off by the 'Matte' label, it's not drying at all, it's actually really moisturising! :)

Here's another pic of me rocking Strawberry Suede...
I ♥ it :)

I also curled my hair using Philips curlers, but they literally fell out after like 30 mins! Can anyone recommend any good 38mm curling tongs?

Outfit:

This shirt is like the only red thing I own! Shameful, but I'm more of a neutral girl!

Shirt - Topshop
Black tank - Dorothy Perkins
Leggings - Miss Selfridge

Nails:
Going with the red theme, obvs!

Rimmel Lycra Pro in Celebrity Bash

I loved dressing up for the Royal Wedding!

Did you rock red lips for the Royal Wedding? Did you dress up?

Love,

Sophia

Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks in Peach & Soft Nude...

Hey lovelies :)

I purchased some of Revlon's Colourburst lipsticks recently... Surprise, surprise! Lipsticks seem to be the only thing I buy at the mo, I must be going through a phase! I bought Peach from Superdrug (10% student discount, makes sense) and I got Soft Nude on eBay after reading that Khloe Kardashian wears it lol, obsessed!

Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Peach - RRP £7.99

I chose to get Peach as I don't have any peach coloured lipsticks in my collection, I thought it would be a lovely summer shade and I saw it on Sailor Jennie's blog and it won me over :)

Without flash:
With flash:
It doesn't look as dark in real life, it looks peachy :)

Here are my lips before...
and after...
It took a few minutes for me to get used to the colour as I never wear peach lipsticks! But then I LOVED it. Like seriously loved it! I felt so confident in it, which is a good sign, right?

Here I am!
(Peach)
Definitely going to be wearing it more often! Such a lovely colour, perfect for summer!

Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Soft Nude - Not sold in the UK

As I said, I bought this on eBay and got it shipped over from the States so don't go rummaging for it in your local Superdrug! If you're looking for a UK dupe, I've heard Gosh Darling is very similar :)

Here are my lips before...

and after...

I'm definitely going through some kind of phase, I NEVER usually wear nude lipsticks! I always fear they'll drown me out! However I am completely in love with this shade. It's not nude like concealer nude, it's like a kind of peachy nude :)

(Soft Nude)

In both pictures, I'm also wearing...

No7 Colour Calming Primer
Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect Foundation in 72
Maybelline Pure Cover Mineral Concealer in Natural
GOSH Natural Touch Cream Blusher in Peachy Rush
Urban Decay Baked e/s in Buck
Urban Decay Baked e/s in Smog (outer corners)
Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eye Liner in Brown
Avon Color Trend Double Ended Kajal Stick in Brown (lower waterline)
No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara in Brown
Mac Eye Brows in Lingering

I would 100% recommend these lipsticks, they're super moisturising and the colours are so lovely and natural :) You can't go wrong really!

Have you tried Revlon Colourburst lipsticks? Tempted?

Love,

Sophia

OOTD: Shopping trip!

Hey girls!

Just a quick one - here's what I wore yesterday for a shopping trip and coffee catch-up with my friend :)

I had such a lovely day! I went shopping (on my own - anyone else do that?) and got some bits from New Look and Primark! I went into New Look with a massive list of stuff I wanted to try on from the website but I didn't get much of it! I bought a lovely floral playsuit from AX Paris though, I hadn't planned to get it at all, I kind of just saw it in the corner of my eye and fell in love with it when I tried it on! Blog post to follow of course :)

Then I met up with my friend Cordelia for coffee in Esquires :) I had a chai latte, never tried one before - it was delicious! Love catching up with old friends :) We went to have a look for the new iPhone 4 in White but nowhere had any! Are any of you getting it? I've been lusting after it forever!!!

HOWEVER my shoes caused me SO much pain ALL day! They're my new ones from Dorothy Perkins - The first time I wore them they gave me massive blisters and literally I was bleeding so much, but I thought I'd give them another go... nope! Still agonising to wear! Hmph :(

What do you think of my smart/casual ensemble? Do you have odd shopping habits like me?!

Let me know! :)

Love,

Sophia

Blog sale buys...

Hey bloggers!

How much do you love blog sales?! You know what they say, one person's rubbish is another's gold! I thought I'd give you a little peek into my bargain blog sale buys :) Postage for all items cost me £1.50 each, and 50p for each additional item from the same buyer.

Prestige SunBaked Mineral Bronzing Powder in Glam Tan - £4
I've wanted this bronzer for ages after seeing it on Bubblegarm's blog. I've picked it up in Boots a few times but 9 odd quid or however much they were charging seemed too much for me, even if it is mineral! I spotted this on Holly's blog and bought it straight away!

Here's my face before...

and after...
As you can see, it's VERY dark! Perhaps it was suited to Muhsine's (Bubblegarm) tanned complexion slightly more than mine! It's certainly not a daytime natural bronzer, but I reckon it would suit a night-time look as it's similar to Benefit's Hoola :)

Eyeko Vintage Polish - £3
Next I picked up Eyeko's Vintage nail polish. It looked like such a cute, summery colour... How could I say no? I've only ever bought Eyeko once before when I purchased some glittery, vampy colours! This colour definitely took 2 coats, but then I loved it :) A very creamy mint green, lovely!
Rachel was also kind enough to send me some little goodies for free as well; a mini Origins scrub and REN cleanser and detox mask! These will be perfect for taking on my travels!

Stila Lip Glaze in Raspberry - £1.50
This has to be my ultimate favourite blog sale product, and it was the cheapest... Result! I picked up this Stila lip glaze after reading somewhere that Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez deliberately went out of their way to buy these when they came over to the UK recently! If it's good enough for them...

Here's my lips before...

and after...
It's gorgeous! A perfect, shiny gloss, and not sticky at all. It glides on a dream! My only qualm is that it gets used up quite quickly, I expect I'll be making a repurchase soon!

17 Lasting Fix Lipstick in Dreamy - £2
I read great things about 17 Lasting Fix Lipstick on Lisa Eldridge's blog and I figured it's worth a try for £2!

Without flash...

With flash...
I'd say it's more true to the first pic. I thought it would be a creamy, nudey pink... I was definitely wrong. It's a kind of candy pink.

Here's my lips before...
and after...
Aah, very bright! I tried to tone down the pink a bit by adding 17's Mirror Shine Lipstick in Beehive, from my 17 haul.
Much more natural, but not something I think I'd wear in the day. Perhaps in the evening when I'm prepared to take more risks with my make-up, we'll have to wait and see :)

Benefit Her Glossiness Lipgloss in Who Are You Wearing? - £2
The last thing I bought was this Benefit lipgloss from Cherry for £2. I saw Benefit+Lipgloss+£2 and thought bargain! Benefit liplosses are some of my ultimate faves, however they've discontinued my fave line 'the gloss' :(

Here's my lips before...

and after...

Actually very similar to the Stila lip glaze, this smells like my fave Benefit lipgloss! YAY! A glossy pink, perfect for popping in your handbag for nights out... Thanks, Cherry :)

Have you bought any blog sale bargains recently? What blog sales should I check out?

Let me know :)

Love,

Sophia

Barry M Touch of Magic & Peach Melba nail paint...

Hey girls!
I picked up some Barry M items in Superdrug recently after reading about them on a couple of blogs :) I've always been a fan of their nail paints, they're so cheap and the colours are always on trend. I couldn't wait to get my hands on their new shade Peach Melba. I also picked up their Touch of Magic lip paint because I liked the idea of a natural-looking lip stain. Here's my thoughts...

Lip Paint in Touch of Magic - £4.50
Yes, that's right, it's not a trick of the camera... It is actually green! It reacts to the alkaline levels in your lips to create a natural shade that's suited to you.

Here's my lips before...

and after...
It's crazy how quickly it works, it really is a 'touch of magic'! It's a lovely fuchsia shade, I think it looks really natural on my skintone and would suit anyone!

I realised I don't often include full face pictures when I do lip shots, so here are a few to give you an idea of what it looks like...
Aside from Barry M Lip Paint in Touch of Magic, I'm also wearing...

On my FACE - Stila Oil-Free Sheer Color Tinted Moisturiser in Tone (Medium 01), Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in 02 Medium. Gosh Natural Touch Cream Blush in Peachy Rush. Nars Mini Multiple in Copacabana.

On my EYES - Urban Decay baked e/s in Buck all over lid, Avon Color Trend Double Ended Kajal Stick in Brown on upper lid and lower waterline and No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara in Brown. Mac Eye Brows in Lingering.

Nail Paint in Peach Melba - £2.99
I read that this shade was quite hard to come by, but there were quite a few of these left in my local Superdrug :) I figured it would be a lovely, natural summer shade that would go with anything. I was quite disappointed at first, it was really runny and required at least two coats and went all over my cuticles. I've grown to love it though, and I do love the shade... It just takes a good few coats!
Here it is with Sally Hansen's Diamond Shine top coat from my Fragrance Direct haul :)

I was interested in Barry M's Lip Paint in Peachy Pink but after reading a few reviews online, it appeared very drying and flaky. I prefer a nice moisturising lip colour if you ask me!

Have you tried these products? What are your favourite Barry M buys?

Love,

Sophia

When the Easter Bunny paid a visit...

Hey girls!

HAPPY EASTER!!!
This is the collection of Easter eggs I received yesterday. I have yet to eat a single one. I don't really know when to eat one?! After lunch I just fancy a yoghurt and then in the evening I'm already feeling kinda sluggish! I've got a feeling these aren't going to get eaten before I go back to uni on Sun! Any willing consumers in the Horsham area please contact me ASAP, lol!

I was also able to drink caffeine again after giving it up for Lent - I had a Diet Coke and a cup of coffee. As soon as I did, I felt bloated, my teeth felt funny and I was dying for the loo, so I think I'm going to continue to cut it out of my diet! If I'm tired I'll just have a glass of water instead...

Yesterday I just went for a run (did I mention I've signed up to do the 5k Race for Life for Cancer Research? Woop!) and then I had a Sunday lunch, before helping my Dad move his stuff out of his house. I earnt 20 squid, score, especially considering the amount of online shopping I've been doing recently!

I wore a simple tank, black leggings and a pashmina. Chill-out clothes :)

Here's how I did my make-up...
FACE: No7 Colour Calming Primer, Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect Foundation in 72 Rose Clair, Maybelline Pure Cover Mineral Concealer in Natural (I've gone off Benefit Boi-ing at the mo - my skin's been really bad!) and GOSH Natural Touch Cream Blusher in Peachy Rush.

EYES: Urban Decay baked e/s in Buck all over lid, Avon Color Trend Double Ended Kajal Stick in Brown on upper lid and lower waterline and No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara in Brown. Mac Eye Brows in Lingering.

Here's how I did my hair...
After said run, my hair was in no fit condition to be worn down! I simply sprayed some of my new Batiste Blonde dry shampoo and tied it up into a messy bun.
Lovely jubbly!

How did you spend your Easter weekend?

Love,

Sophia
